Lumber Liquidators was started in 1993 outside of Boston, MA, by building contractor Tom Sullivan. Initially, we sold all types of building materials. On January 5th, 1996, we opened 'store #1' and started specializing in hardwood flooring. We grew to over 200 stores nationwide and are now the leader in all types of interior flooring. We have small stores and big savings, but most importantly, our stores are staffed with flooring experts. So, how do we provide such great service and great prices? We have low overhead and buy large volumes directly from mills, which we distribute with our highly efficient distribution system. We know floors!
